Home Page for Toby's trip to Antarctica
This service is still under construction, but feel free to poke around.
Things are beginning to improve, however, as I finally got around to
spending the time to get a group of slides scanned.
Hi there. Every three years the National Science Foundation sends one Boy
Scout (in alternate years they send a Girl Scout) to the Antarctic. The
requirement are that you be an Eagle Scout, be between 17 and 21 years of
age, and have a strong science background. Under the supervision of the
NSF, the recipient travels around the Antarctic, working with various
research teams along the way. I spent 4 months "down on the ice", from
October 14, 1992 through February 13, 1993. I had the time of my life and
this is my "story."
The information available here is accessible several ways:
I hope you find this service interesting, and hey, send me e-mail at
toby@ovod-everett.org. Thanks.
